For business owners
​Every business owner will receive a questionnaire after committing to an interview, and once a recording time is established. The questionnaire allows me to know more about your business and structure in-depth questions for your episode. Additionally, it also gives the business owner an idea of what​ to expect during the interview. There will be no "gotcha" journalism here. My goal is to promote all business owners in a positive light in ways that they feel comfortable.
Disclaimer
Behind the Business is a monthly podcast. Therefore, there will be 12 guests per year. As of January 3, 2026, only one sponsor is allowed per episode. Guest spots are available only to licensed business owners, and sponsorships are available only to nonprofits and community organizations in Southwest Michigan.
For Sponsors
The Community Organization Sponsorship Intake Form invites local nonprofits and community organizations to sponsor a single episode of the Behind the Business podcast with a 30- or 60-second ad featured at the beginning of the episode. Sponsorships include a host-written and recorded ad (or sponsor-provided script) highlighting the organization’s mission, community impact, call to action, website and social media, and any upcoming events, along with promotional support through three Instagram story posts and one standard post prior to the episode. Only one sponsorship per organization per season is available, and all ad content and media must be provided electronically by the sponsor. The form collects organizational details, sponsorship length and cost, mission and impact information, awards, slogans, event details (for 60-second ads), and approval preferences. Costs of sponsorships will be detailed in sponsorship form. Funds collected from the sponsorships will go to production costs and can be used as a tax writeoff for the community organizations and non-profits that commit to a sponsorship.
